Purchase from "Darren" out of Hobart. The car was running and had some brakes. The body has a lot of rust and the the interrior is very average. Being a Coupe 9 my thoughts were to use all my exccess parts to build another Coupe 9 (perhaps a Club race version)

Purchased from Michael the original owner of the Coupe 7. The car had been in an accident "T" boned and basically a write off. Michael searched around for another car and was fortunate to find another nearby. With his son they started to bebuild a Coupe 7 using the body off the No. 2 Coupe.

The decision was made to construct another Coupe 9 out of the Canberra Coupes and using the engine from the Tassie Coupe.
On stripping the Tassie Coupe found that there was recently fitted std pistons to the engine. Somewhere in its history some one had given it a little love.
Completed stripping the engine (they are alwyas sluggy) and off to the engine rebuilders to put all the casings through their wash machine.
The head when cleaned showed that there had been a recent repair to cracks between the inlet and exhuast valves of the No.2 and 3 cylinders. !!!!!!
With three other cylinder heads at my disposal I have one that looks ok and it is at the engine reduilders for a head and valve grind.
Some time ago at a reasonably costly exercise I purchased a number of engine spare parts from CMSNL.com including:
- Standard rings
- Big end shells (EB1 Honda big end shell are the same)
- Main bearings
- Head gasket
- Number of seals
- Cam chain and guides
The body of the No.2 Canberra Coupe has been resprayed as Holden Manaro yellow.
Looks good and will slowly bring it all back to life.
