Purchased new in July 1971 from Astoria Motors and Body Works Pty Ltd., Bentleigh, Victoria. It is going to join our Coupe 9. The car was specificly purchased for my wife for club level motor sport activities and we are in the process of having its certification completed.

The car is entered in the Northam Flying 50 which to the uninitiated is a street regularity race here in WA around the streets of a town close to Perth. I hope to have the onboard camera running soon so I may get you some footage and transfer it to You tube so all can see it in anger.

Original Photos of the first Hondas in our Family

My older brother Eric is pictured with his original 1968 Honda N600 Scamp and his 1972 Honda Coupe 7 Deluxe in Lightning Yellow livery.
He purchased his Scamp for $350 second hand for Uni and had to replace its gearbox mount straight away due to major shuddering.
The Coupe 7 was purchased in 1975 from Mott Honda in Victoria Park for $2,290 and was in near new condition. He drove it for about 6 years and after blowing up the engine passed it on to me around 1980/81.
We did a lot of selling and swapping of cars in our early days with 5 sons and 1 daughter having cars along with our parents.
Our sister Marie had a Honda N360 Scamp. At one stage I think we were up to 16 vehicles, all in working condition.

Curiously, Eric arrived at my home some time later with an unopened can of Lightning Yellow touch up paint that he had kept in case for years.
He also had the original sales brochure from Mott Honda.

I cannot find any original paperwork that lists the serial numbers of this car and I am not sure if it survived. I will keep looking for details and would appreciate any information on its whereabouts. This car was a ‘Deluxe’ as the ‘S’ badges in some imports were replaced to reduce the insurance premiums.
